Abstract

The paper examines the role and compositional meaning of the episode about the passion of Vukašin of Jasenovac in „The Eighth Telling to Čeperko” of the novel A Moment 1. Isaković’s literary treatment of a historical testimony, noted down by doctor Nedo Zec, is also viewed from the point of view of historical documents about the suffering in the Jasenovac camp and others war testimonies. A significant regard of work is the relationship between Christian martyrdom and the modernist poetics of a writer who does not belong to religious inspiration neither conceptually nor poetically.
