INTERPRETATION OF THE POEM “KOLO SENTANDREJSKO” BY MILOSAV TEŠIĆ

Abstract

In the interpretation of the poem Kolo sentandrejsko, written by Milosav Tešić, which so far has not attracted the attention of previous interpreters of Tešić’s work, the starting point is the creative transformation of, in folk literature omnipresent, motif of the kolo, and the adoption of stylistic and expressive means peculiar to the aforementioned literary tradition. This paper discusses the intertextual connections with Radičević’s and Njegoš’s stylization of the motif of the kolo, but also with Miloš Crnjanski’s image of the north and the image of Szentendre in the work of Vasko Popa.
