Abstract

The paper is about the Verse Prologue of Bishop Marko Pećki, which was written in 1399. Until the Second World War, the manuscript was in the monastery of Serbian Patriarchate of Peć with the signature 50. During the war, it was lost and was recently found in the Beočin monastery in Fruška Gora. The manuscript contains two of Mark’s original works. One is dedicated to his parents: Synaksar Gerasim and Yefimija (1392). The second composition, written in 1411, is the Founder’s Record of the Church of St. George, which represents the concept of the unpreserved charter of Mark’s issued to this monastery. The paper examines the process of uncritical editions of these works before the loss of the manuscripts during the Second World War. The editions of the texts of Mark’s mentioned works are attached in the appendix.
