Keywords:
Isidora Sekulić, essay, nationalism, collective memory, national identityAbstract
The main goal of the paper is to recognize and understand the ways in which the thought about the Serbian collective being and the national fate is shaped in the early phase of Isidora Sekulić’s essays, the end of which we see at the beginning of the First World War. In the first part of the paper we will try to point out the configuration of national and identity simbols, as well as the complex relationship between cultural heritage and the imperatives of time. Consequently, the second part will be devoted to the review of the value system within the framework of the First and Second Balkan Wars.
