Abstract

The work of Stanislav Krakov rests on the conjunction of the concepts of fiction, autofiction and documentary, thus representing in the narratological sense a challenge for interpretation, and the search for an answer to the question to what extent the work itself knows its referentiality. In the three books taken into consideration in this paper, their formal
structure is problematized and the identity of the storyteller/author as a subject determined by the social dimension, social-historical context is revealed, thereby apostrophizing the themes that determine Krakow’s public and artistic discourse – war, the problem of national identity, the relationship to the victim and the Other.
