ECOCRITICISM AND HISTORY OF LITERATURE

Abstract

Representing various theoretical positions of ecocriticism as one of the newest paradigms in literary criticism, the paper showed a potential interconnection between ecocriticism and history of literature. Many important concepts of ecocriticism such as distinction between nature and culture, environmental activism, and interdisciplinary methodology, can change the way we see literature as an art. Therefore, ecological discourse can have many other interpretative consequences on historical view of literature and concept of national literature as well.
